FAQ
Questions owners ask us.
Before you buy
Do I need to pay every month?
No. You pay once for setup and hardware, and you own it. Optional support is available, and you can choose pay-as-you-go visits instead.
Will it work with my TVs?
Android TV and Google TV sets (TCL, Sony, Xiaomi, Hisense, Philips) work directly. Samsung, LG or older TVs get a small Google TV box behind the screen.
Do I need fast internet?
Your own channel, menus and signage play from the server in your office, so they work even on slow internet. Streaming apps like Netflix use your internet connection, as they do today.
Can you install on my island?
Yes. Malé, Hulhumalé and Villimalé are included. For other islands we charge transport at cost plus a travel day, and we plan visits so neighbouring properties can share the trip.
Is Vue only for hotels?
No. Guest rooms are one part of it. Restaurants use the menu boards, shops and clinics use the signage, and common areas work anywhere — with the guest-room features switched off.
Content & licensing
Do you supply movies?
No, and you should be careful with anyone who does. Showing films to paying guests is a public performance and needs a licence, even if you own the disc, and downloaded films never have one. Guests watch their own Netflix, YouTube or Prime accounts; your channel shows your own videos; live TV comes from your Medianet or Dhiraagu subscription.
Are guests' accounts safe?
Yes. At checkout, staff tap once and every app is signed out and history cleared. We never see or store guests' passwords.
Can I show my own videos?
Yes: welcome films, island guides, house rules, excursion clips. Send them to us and they appear on every TV. If you don't have videos, we can film them.
What software runs the system?
Vue TV Manager runs on a server in your office, with your choice of media server for your own videos. We add the branded launcher, menus, signage and checkout reset on top, and set it all up for you.
Can I keep Medianet or Dhiraagu TV?
Yes. We put live TV in the same menu, so guests don't need a second remote or input switching.
Digital signage
What can a signage screen show?
Photos, videos, text slides, menu boards, QR codes, a clock, weather, prayer times, web pages and a scrolling ticker — in full-screen, side-panel or L-shaped layouts.
How do I change the menu?
From your phone in the TV Manager. Sections, dishes and prices as plain lines; the board arranges itself and fits any screen, portrait or landscape.
Can screens change by time of day?
Yes. A restaurant can show breakfast from 7 to 10:30, the lunch menu until 3, and dinner after — on a schedule, per screen or per area.
After installation
What if something breaks?
WhatsApp us. Most issues are fixed remotely in minutes. Hardware carries the manufacturer warranty and we handle the return for you.
Who owns the system?
You do: the hardware, the setup and your content. If you stop working with us, it keeps running.
How long does installation take?
About two weeks from deposit to handover; the on-site day is usually one day for up to 8 screens.
How do I pay?
Half on order, which covers importing the hardware, and half at handover, by bank transfer.
